Applications Specialist

Marine Harvest is seeking a Applications Specialist to take responsibility for driving development of our Farming applications globally according to Corporate guidelines and standards. You will liaise between MH entities, MH departments and relevant external partners for all new implementations and upgrades. Secure our priorities. You’ll be an expert at influencing and challenging in a positive way; and you’ll bring that positivity when demonstrating your capabilities in a role with ever-changing demands. You will look for challenges within the farming business and use technology to overcome them.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage relations with business and IT in order to understand drivers and priorities

  • Manage global livestock projects, make sure our priorities are communicated and well understood both internally and with external partners

  • Reviews and analyzes farming business needs; confers with business users to evaluate requirements through organized workshops, discuss solutions with partners and lead project to deliver the solution

  • Drive standardization of processes and applications portfolio across Farming entities globally

  • Make sure added value initiatives are positioned, triggered and executed. Integration solutions to feeding, camera systems, ERP, Mobility, IoT, Industry 4.0, etc

  • Mentor Farming entities for proper/intended and harmonized use of farming applications

  • Lead Livestock Center of Competence (CoC) and related tasks

  • Stay in close dialogue with BI CoC and help developing of standard farming reporting solutionLead and coordinate all change management process within the farming area


The right candidate has

  • Relevant higher education and/or years of operational experience within the Aquaculture or Fisheries industry

  •  A solid understanding of the Farming business processes incl. site operations, logistics, planning and technology usage

  • Knowledge of Mercatus solutions and/or Qlikview will be an added advantage

  • Experience from project management within larger companies

  • A track record of working constructively with coordination and implementation of standard technology solutions and/or new processes

  • A “can do” attitude with excellent cooperation and communications skills

  • An innovative and challenging mindset, structured and systematic in implementation and execution

  • Loyalty to the company’s business strategy, vision and values, and thus a role model

  •  Service minded and trustworthy

  •  Excellent written and spoken English.  


The position reports to IT Business Partner Feed and Farming, Arnt Mjøen. Office location will be in Bergen, but flexible for the rigth candidate.
